Hi
Anyone in Orlando at the mo? Just got back perhaps? How busy are the parks? What are the queues like? I'm going on Friday and cannot wait. Just looking for an insight to how it is over there at the mo?
Can anybody recommend any decent restaurants? Anything unusal to try? We've got the flexi ticket for Universal/sea world etc but any other different ideas would be welcome.
thanks anyway

Parks start to get busy this time of year, so you might want to think about buying Express Pass to beat the lines. Weather is hot, humid and stormy - high 80's with a 1/2 hour t/storm most afternoons.
Decent restaurants? Depends on your taste/budget: Steak = Del Frisco, Lee Rd (north of downtown) Fish = Flying Fish, Disney Boardwalk (Downtown Disney) Local/Floridian = Fish on Fire, Detwyler (just west of OIA)
Unusual to try? River tubing at Blue Springs State Park. Run What Ya Brung Drags at Orlando Speedworld, Bithlo (East of O'town on SR-50). Shuttle launch this Saturday (early am)
Have fun

thanks. Do you know how much the express passes are roughly?
Free in Disney, they call it the Fast Pass.Basically get your fast pass for the main attraction like Soarin', Expedition Everest, Kilamanjaro Safari or the new Toy Story one then queue up for another ride.
Cannot remember the cost of an express pass for universal.

I'm just back. Apart from a few rainy days, it was good! Sea World and Busch Gardens were my favourite.
The parks weren't 'too' busy, longest wait we had for any ride was one hour, though most were about 30 mins. The restaurants are all quite busy.
Fast passes are free in Disney but you are only allowed one at a time. I think Busch gardens charges $15 for its express pass, and gives you one express pass for each ride once. Aquatica is the better water park out of the two on your ticket. Wet N Wild seemed a bit grubby. Still worth a visit.
We didnt do the Disney water parks. Though the actual Disney parks were good. GF loved Magic Kingdom.
A nice Italian called the Olive Garden on Int.Drive near stop 23 is definately worth a visit!

Fishbones
One of the best I've been to for seafood:

Had valet parking when we went, not sure whether it still has though.
Kobe Steakhouse

Ask to sit at a Teppanyaki table for entertainment.
Very fresh sushi/sashimi, Kobe steak is excellent.
