I find myself in Florida and on 13th June the shuttle is launching.

Has anyone seen this for real and got any tips on best place to see it. There are tickets for the visitor center anyone done that?

Cheers.

DO IT! Awesome sight.

The 'official' viewing site is pretty good - we did the breakfast with an astronaught beforehand which was good and got the kids a bit more interested. Plus you can then do stuff around Kennedy whilst waiting to go to the viewing site.

Fingers crossed for good weather!

Breakfast with an "astronaught" (sic) must have been a "zero" experience.

And that it takes off on time and isn't delayed for a week or 2!

All the tickets are sold for the official viewing site but got tickets to view from the Visitor Centre which is pretty close.

Well if it doesn't launch then it doesn't but I cannot pass up on the opportunity and seeing as they are moth balling them next year only a few chances left.

I am sure NASA postpone launches for very good reasons and do not run the schedule to suit tourists like me. I am more than happy to take a chance.
