Recommend me a hotel outside Rome.
Discussion
Me and my new bride will be flying to Rome from the US in three weeks time to honeymoon in Tuscany. We're renting a car at FCO airport and want to stay overnight on the outskirts of Rome to relax/sleep/recover from jetlag before driving North the next day.
Can anyone recommend a good clean hotel between the airport and Rome?
Thanks in advance!

FCO is only a very short hop from Rome itself so you could do worse than stay in a hotel in the city. I often used a small family run place right down near the walls of the Vatican City, the hotel Alimandi, linky. Family run, really friendly and very easy to get to from teh autostrada surrounding Rome so you'll easily be able to head off the next morning. Plus this way you get to be within walking distance of a lot of nice sights for a good leg stretch after you get off the aircraft

Cheers - I've taken the easy option and booked a room at the Hilton nr the airport. Bit of a cop out I know but it does have a pool and free shuttle bus to Rome city centre. Chris
No worries, that is probably your easiest option. Do get the shuttle bus into town and go and walk around. It's a very safe and beautiful city and a lot of the central elements you would wish to catch are walkable distance apart. Given it's your honeymoon the Trevi Fountain would be a very worthwile stop (only place to keep a real close hold on your bag / wallet). If you can walk to Piazza Novona (?sp). A bit further away you have St Peter's and of course the Colusseum. It should be lovely weather for a nice evening walk.
