Getting married in Barbados - where?
Discussion
To be fair, everywhere looks nice on paper but there is a lot of variation on quality..
Having stayed at a few of the high end hotels I would now actually always stay here, its not strictly a hotel & if pool is important to you then it doesnt have one but its a fantastic place to really relax. Great food, superb service and great rooms right on beach..

We haven't set out a budget. I have no idea what you get for your money. We have sorted the flights seperately, so its just a accomodation. What do you get for £200 per night? Anything any good? or do we need to spend £300-400 per night? I reallu have no idea.
Hope this helps you to help me.

ok well.. in my humble opinion...(and I've stayed a fair few nice places)
the best places are..
lonestar (see previous link) - appreciate you dont like sea though..
Coral reef Club
http://www.coralreefbarbados.com/
The house (quite small, boutiquey not too expensive either but small pool)

Then you get the more traditional hotels like Royal Pavilion. Not my taste but each to their own.
There are lots of other budget hotels.. Tamarind cove isnt bad, Turtle beach, Colony club not bad either.
I'd stay away from the Crane on the south coast - it gets raved about but I thought it was a bit cr@p to be honest.
Happy to offer more advice if u need. good luck

ETA: Im scared of fish(dont ask) so i cant go in the sea, so a pool would be nice.
Seriously!?....then you're choosing the wrong destination....Barbados (and the rest of the Caribbean) is all about the sea - the beautiful beaches, crystal waters, swimming with the turtles etc.....because without it there is very little to do and away from your hotel its a stehole...but the sea is glorious.Edited by trophies on Friday 22 May 16:02
Go to Dubai,Vegas or elsewhere where you'll get a better deal all-round and more to do away from the poolside......

I have been to dubai a couple of times, vegas is for the honeymoon. I would like to experience the caribean, but i just can not go in the sea.... oh its hard work this.
I would hate to waste the week, but i know she will love it and i suppose thats all that matters. I may get a bit bored, but it wont be that bad,
Am i being silly
Cheers chaps

restaurants are as follows, bank on all (of these) being quite expensive and book all in advance of going and ask for waterside tables at all of them, mention honeymoon.
In no particular order (google them for info):
The Cliff
Lonestar
Daphnes
The Tides
The Fishpot
Go to Sandy Lane (just so you've seen it!)
There are cheaper ones, cocomos is a good beach bar and also try to go to the friday night fish fry at oistins, good fun.
enjoy.

Well if you are going to sit round the pool all day it should be a decent one - I usually stay at the Hilton at Needhams Point, the view from my balcony last time looked like this:
Pools are great, food is great, private beach which is closed off from the sea - generally no fish.. walking distance into Bridgetown (about 30min walk, or risk your life with a local bus/taxi)...but its pricey.
Next time I go (I travel on business, so go fairly regularly) one of the locals has suggested this place as an alternative, but haven't tried it yet:
http://www.accrabeachhotel.com/site/main.html
It is in a slightly better location with more to do locally.....and there's a big Chefette nearby which sells good ice cream and of course the famous Roti.
