The lady is heading off to Lisbon for her Hen Do and rather oddly has asked me to help plan it (I've been a couple of times, but mainly for work) Can anybody here suggest nice places for them to go and things to do?

There are loads of nice bars and restaurants around the old town or equally the 'expo' near the river is great too. If they fancied heading over to estoril, they could do the casino and such like. Lisbon is a superb place and quite underrated for a city break.

Get over to the suburb of Belem to experience the Tortas de Belem - a very old and very secret recipe tart. Eat them with 'bicas' (espresso coffee).

Take the ferry over to Cacilhas to get a river-based perspective of the city and to see all the hills.

Lisbon is famous for all the viewing spots around the city and there are lots of them. They are known as Miradouros. My favourite is the one at Graca, next to the big church up there. Go near sunset and get a spot at the cafe/bar up there to watch the sunset.

If you only do one thing in Lisbon, get on tram 28 and go from one end of the route, back to the other. Do a search online for it.

Nightlife centres on 2 areas. The old area of Bairro Alto which has very small winding streets with tiny bars and cafes. The other area is Doca, where big warehouse clubs reside.

Doca(s)? is alright but as I remember it was full of 'chain' bars like O'Neils Irish Pub etc. It isn't cheap either (if that has any relevance).
