Sardinia

I have just booked some cheap ryanair flights for Sardinia (Cagliari) for last week of July first week of Aug for me, wife and 6 year old son. Anyone been? Was it any good? I still need to book accommodation and car but not sure what to do. I quite fancy one of these tents with rooms in or a villa. Any recommendations or experiences?

Been to Alghero in the north which is the more affluent part of Sardinia. Not been to Cagliari but heard it is nice.

Put it this way, if it's good enough for the Italians to holiday there (seemed to be the majority) then it's good enough for me!

Great food, great beaches, beautiful scenery.

We stayed at the Hotel Lantana for a week in a one bedroom suite, last summer. If you're after a small quiet hotel, with large rooms (and a full kitchen) we found it heavenly. The beach is a quick drive down the road. It's also only 20 mins from Cagliari

Stayed on the Coata Smeralda on the north coast. Fab place, amazing beaches, generally a spot on place.
