Lyon to Saone et Loire
Discussion
Anyone got any good suggestions for days out around Lyon and Saone et Loire?
Things like rafting, canoeing, walks, vine yards, good b&b, resturants etc.
I don't want to stay in Lyon, unless there is a must do.
I'm arriving at Lyon Airport, hiring a car and have 3 days to get to Saone et Loire for a Christening. Will travel east from Lyon, and can go past Saone et Loire if required.
Thanks

spent nearly a week in lyon on a conference last year. Its really worth spending some time in the city itself...
old lyon is lovely - well worth a visit, many excellent restaurants - the city is known for its cuisine.
La Croix Rousse is authentic old Lyon - UNESCO world heritage site & has a silk museum
Roman theatre well worth a look too
Really cool city to just wander in- if you are into soaking up the ambience!!!
Trips on river boats also a good evening with meal
Parc de la tete d'or massive and beautiful park in the centre of the city
Around Lyon - beautiful countryside- also not too far from the mountains
