Bucharest - things to see and do?

I will be going to Bucharest for a few days next month - anyone been before and recommend a few sights to see, things to do etc?

I already have the palace that the old mad president built on the list, and given it is supposed to be the second biggest building in the world I guess this might take some time but other suggestions would be great.

Is it possible to visit Dracula's castle over in Transylvania in a day from central Bucharest, or does that need an overnight stay somewhere local?
