I'm off to Kalkan in mid June with the wife and two other couples to try and stay clear of the Euro zone. I haven't been to Turkey since I was 11 so was wondering if anyone could recommend anything to do, or anywhere good to eat and drink?

Cheers thumbup

Kalkan to Kaş is an amazing road with spectacular scenery. On behalf of PH I've asked around and sadly there are no hire companies in Kalkan that do LP560-4 Spyders, so I have had to do it several times in a Fiat Albea with four recidivistically terrified passengers.

Just got back from Turkey and a word of warning as to the costs out there ,its not as cheap as it used to be frown We went to Olu Deniz with my parents

They had been there in October of last year and as well as the exchange rate dropping by a third it was 3.6 lire to the £ then 2.4 now (but we expected that) everything had gone up roughly by a third to

Still had a great time over there and would recommend it as a destination.

Some example costs/conversions would be useful whilst they are fresh in your mind.

Off the top of my head eating out was costing between £10 and £15 for the main course and between £5 and £8 for a dessert ,lager was between £3 and £5 a pint depending if you went for the local or imported brews.Vodka and redbull was £4 (that was for a single vodka)I think the most expensive drink I bought was for the good lady being £6 for a Baileys.

There are still some bargains to be had out there ,my Dad got himself some new variofocal (sic) glasses which cost him a shade under £300, cost over here would have been nearer to £600 if not more depending on the frames
