We are on Praslin for a week - getting married next Tuesday.
Then over to La Digue for 4 days
Then to Mahe for 3 days
Then home cry

Is there anything we shouldn't miss while we are there? (apart from 4pm next Tuesday that is!)

The Vallee de Mai and its naughty coconuts is a must.

Can't argue with that tongue out

I'd say Dennis Island - Mrs Brisel & I had our honeymoon in the Seychelles in 2007. 1 week on Dennis Island followed by 1 week on Praslin. Mahe was just too darn noisy by comparison...

Blimey brisel, are you loaded or what. We've looked up the prices for Denis Island eek and we'd have to grab one of the charter flights there too.
Just a little too out of our range at this time I'm afraid, so perhaps its one for our 'fantasy' holiday list biggrin

St Anne marine park looks very interesting. Thanks for the tip Stu R

And finally we come to "Naughty Coconuts" ..
What can I say. We're on honeymoon, with any luck Mrs B will be seeing plenty of these without even having to leave the comfort of her own room hehe

WAS loaded! I had to sell one of the wife's kidneys for it!
Well, we only get married once, don't we?????????

La Digue was a good day trip out for us but there'd be enough for longer. Even if you actually set foot outside your room. wink

While you are on Praslin hire a car for the day & check out L'Anse Lazio (not sure about the spelling). It's a cracking little beach with a good restaurant.

Agreed - get off Mahe asap. It's nice to have a drive round the island and the beach by the Banyan Tree place is very, very nice - Actually, treat the missus to a spa there - open air, on top of the cliffs, over looking the sea.

Watch out for the locals driving in the evenings - they buy a bottle of beer at a shop, drink it while driving to the next shop, get the depoit back on the bottle and then buy another and drive off again - repeat until the sun comes up!

We're back and had a fantastic time.

We managed to have a bit of a look around, got down to Anse Lazio on Praslin - thanks for the heads up on that one thumbup
I was surprised actually, just how different the islands were.
We didn't get much of a look around Praslin, but it was a lovely island from what I saw of it when I grabbed a bike for a couple of days.
Hot but bearable and the snorkelling was fantastic if you aren't scared of rays.
I'd certainly recommend Black Parrot Suites. Fantastic rooms and a lovely deck area, pool and lounge just for the 12 suites.

La Digue we could have missed out TBH. It was boiling hot all the time, the beaches were full of sandflys (the season apparently) which bit the Mrs to bits. And once you've whizzed around the couple of roads on the bike you've pretty much covered it. Stupidly expensive too at EUR30 for a carafe of plonk.
More than anything though it was the tropical humid heat which did our heads in.

Mahe was a big surprise and we really enjoyed it. Probably helped by it being a bit more rainy so not nearly so muggy and hot. i don't think you can call anywhere in the Seychelles "built up" as such, and we found some lovely beaches and restaurants.
We stayed at the Anse Soleil Beachcomber and if you like simple in a great location you couldn't beat it. A little beach cafe for lunches and we whizzed up to the main road to restaurants and ate wonderful food at the Islander ?

As we got married there we'll have to go back for an anniversary and we've said we'd love to base ourselves at Praslin and do day trips to/around the islands and we'll certainly get back to the Beachcomber where we'll have room #10 for proper seclusion with out of this world views.

thanks for your help guys. it was much headed and certainly appreciated.
