Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a relativley cheap hotel in Vegas and LA?

Although location is quite important i'll have a car whilst i'm out there.

Cheers

There is a load of choice on the Strip and all the well-known names of course! It really depends on your budget but something like Harrahs or Casino Royale have double rooms for about £35-45 during the week or £45-55 at the weekend.

If you want me to get some concrete prices for you based on your dates just drop me an email smile

We found staying in the Tropicana in Vegas was good value. We were on the strip, but had a great view of either nicer Strip hotels or the airport.

The people in the nicer hotels had to look at us in our cheaper hotel wink

I'm hopefully doing a road trip so will need accoms in other places if you can help: Houston - El Paso - Tucson - Vegas - LA.

Can you help with flights as well?

We were on a budget so stayed at various Motel 6's, Howard Johnsons and Best Westerns. I've travelled a lot and quite frankly as long as it's clean I don't mind where I stay - especially on driving holidays where you arrive at 7-8pm and depart at 9am, normal hotels are a complete waste of money.

Stayed at the Golden Nugget, off strip, in Vegas - ridiculously cheap for what it was, about £30 for a huge King sized bed, plasma TV etc - even got upgraded.

The Gold Coast is one of the best cheap hotels, rooms are clean and comfortable, casino isn't bunged and mostly used by locals, off license is disgustingly cheap if you want to bring back booze. Foods good and no queues to get fed. Free Shuttlebus drops you off/picks you up beside ballys (opposite the bellagio?) every 15 minutes. It was recommended to me by a mate that goes to vegas 2-3 times a year and it's the only place he stays now. We liked it.
