Houston hire car
Discussion
Hi,
Has anyone hired a full size car with Budget, ideally in Houston, TX?
I may be there for about nine days in May/June (will be there if I can get the leave) for a family reunion and need a proper barge. As I'll be driving out to Austin afterwards with four up it'll need to do a lot of miles pretty comfortably.
Budget says I'll get a 3.5 liter Taurus, which would be good and I've previously rented (via Enterprise) a 3.5 liter Impala (which was okay) so I don't suppose I have anything to fear, do I?
Like this for instance (the delightful Kia Amanti)

And yes, I know the weather will be bloody hot.

Not quite Budget, but my friendly Avis location in Dallas rented me a series of Chrysler 300 and Pontiac Grand Prixes. SUVs weren't that much more expensive. Stay away from the Mercury Marquis and the Lincoln Town Cars; great fun for about 10 minutes before the comedy soft suspension grates.
