Discussion
Hiya, were looking to go on a sun holiday at the end of June after a stressfull couple of months. Just us the two of looking for somewhere not full of chavs and screaming kids with resteraunts and a few bars in the evenings. With a beach! Not looking to spend not too much money either. Easy huh!? Any one got any ideas?

The cheaper the holiday, the more likely you are to be rubbing shoulders with those on low incomes, whom you seen so keen to avoid. The cheapest holidays are generally, (but not always) those in the poorer accommodation in the most popular resorts. Don't forget, your pound won't buy as much sangria and paella as it used to, so unless you go 'all inclusive' your budget will need to be carefully considered.
The enjoyment of holidays has less to do with location and more with state of mind. If you're relaxed and don't have to worry about money while you're there they are great. But if you're stressed when you go, and budget is the paramount consideration, they can cause more stress than they cure, particularly if there is unplanned expense.

We worked it out just for the first day there landing at tea time. for 2 meals say 20 quid each bottle of wine a tenner then coctails, beers, tall drinks and shots. easily another 50 quid. So we saved 100 notes just on the first evening alone. most places were charging 4 euro a drink, I'd never go back to sc or half board whilst the pound is in such a mess.
Thanks for that, they are good points. Stress is something were not after! We're also quite consious of the the weakness of the pound at the moment. We're looking to spend about 400 - 500 per person. We dont mind spending as long as we know we are going to happy. I had not even thought of croatia and morocco seemed a bit expensive. But apon further investiagtion they are quite reasonable. We (as in the royal we) have decided on the Lisbon Coast any one have any experience? Thanks again

Times travel section has a thing on best beachfront hotels and there's one down the coast from Lisbon. Can't find the link just now I'm afraid. One of my uni mates went to lisbon a couple of years back and loved it though.
Only been to the Algarve in Portugal myself, but the Portuguese were all very nice and friendly. Good seafood too.
