My grandmother is doing a Cruse of Asia in June, she booked the holiday. And very happy with it.

then was told she needs to apply for a Chinese visa. OK they got some info, I don't know where from but just had a phone call asking that they will be charge £231 for 2 visas from this company. As I said I don't know who they have been dealing with, possible some company from the travel agents. They also said this included a charge of £91 handling fees WTF

I thought this was a hell of alot of cash, So after a quick google seen this place
http://www.travel-direct.com/visas/china

Costs £89 for both visas ( my grans going with a Friend)

Anyone know anything about this company or have a link to a reputable company who can sort out the visas for my gran

cheers

Could try www.tlcsvisas.com though not sure how much cheaper they might be?

I personally went directly to the nearest Embassy (Manchester) and got it sorted out on the day. It is definitely cheaper, but a bit of hassle.

Staff were pretty average in Manchester, but that is nothing compared to any railway station when you get to China wink

I stand corrected, but I think they have a northern Embassy in Manchester and the only southern one is London unfortunately.

If you have any questions with TLCS, just drop me an email as I book them pretty regularly smile

Just London, Manchester & Edinburgh, by the looks of it. Pity there isn't one in Birmingham as there is with India.

just another thing the TLCS website wants £46 as a handling fee. the other website asks for nothing from what I can see apart from £69 for a single entry to china

Seens rather strange that one company charges £46 the next nothing apart from £9 more for the visa?

Yes unfortunately TLCS do expect handsome payment for their reasonably minimal labours. I haven't heard of the other website you mentioned, but it does seem odd that they only want such a small amount for their services.
