Anyone got any suggestions? Looks like we're escaping miniMechs for the weekend.

Stayed in a cottage recently between Bideford and Hartland point (northwest devon coast). Some great walks from Peppercombe to Clovelly. Would also recommend from Ilfracombe via combe Martin to Lynton/lynmouth coastline.
Some fantastic walks there. Then also good walks/views around Porlock and Dunkery Beakon.

If you want a great drive there, go from Bishops Lydeard on the B3224 via Elworthy all the way to Weddon Cross and Exford, then for more go on the B3223(which follows on from that) to Symonsbath up to Lynton/Lynmouth...Car Mag test route. Amazing roads.

So have I. We missed the turning as I was, erm, being enthusiastic biggrin and SWMBO went into meltdown so we backed of a little wink

Thanks for the input we did about 12 miles going west from Lynton to the Hunters Inn (great beerlick) and back over the top. Our little walk from the Tarr Steps on Saturday went wrong when SWMBO's soles delaminated about a mile from the careek Luckily she lives in approach shoes so she had something to wear for the Sundayhehe

Walk sounds good. I've not walked west from Lynton. I'll give that a try sometime.
To be honest, most of the Exmoor roads are great smile

Tarr Steps on Exmoor is nice - or valley of the rocks the coastal walk towards Lynton is interesting.. you don't suffer vertigo?
