Airmiles, are they insured bt travel insurance?

Due to a last minute medical problem my mrs and I had to cancel a trip to Paris.

I used 3760 airmiles to put towards the hotel costs + £200 cash & payed flights etc with cash.

I have spoken to RBS Royalties Gold insurance services who are sending me out a claims form, the girl I was speaking to was unsure whether they would offer anything for the airmiles.

Airmiles themselves have said it is an issue for my travel insurance

Anyone have any info on the matter?

There are very few insurers who will pay out on mileage bookings being cancelled or missed.

Tesco do, but that may only be for Tesco points used to make bookings.

If you paid the 200 on CC it should all be covered.
