Fun, cool and quirky things to do - London
Discussion
So I don't know London too well at all, having only been there under half a dozen times in 22 years. However a situation of the female variety has occurred somehow and I'm staying at hers this weekend. Anyway I'm trying to think of some fun stuff to do in London apart from the obvious. Few weeks ago we did (since I hadn't been in ages) the usual things i.e St Pauls, Big Ben, Thames, Tate Modern, Brick Lane, Spitalfields Market etc etc.
Now I wanted something a bit different - I'm thinking restaurants like dans le noir (you eat in pitch blackness and waiters are blind), electric cinema in Notting Hill (sofas and wine instead of seats). She's a bit arty so maybe something in Hoxton/Shoreditch area? What about Camden?
Any other ideas from PH Londoners?
Thanks in advance and I thought of "kicking her back doors in" already so yes, that been considered.

if the weather's good, go for a row along the thames in richmond with a bottle of bubbly & some strawbs. has a great effect on your female company
plus there's a reasonable pub just by the bridge for lunch.
then head into town, catch the tail end of portobello market, go to the electric cinema, then home to bed

I can't remember where it is, but I've been to the ICE bar in London, you wear a furry silver poncho and drink super chilled vodka from glasses made of ice and admire the sculptures on hand.
You can only stay in there for 15 mins or so do to your body heat melting the ice!
I'm not a Londoner but there's a mind boggling amount of stuff to do and nice parks everywhere to appreciate "sum culcha". The eating in the dark does sound a little odd though...

One of the best things to do to impress a girl in London is ....
Take her up the ............
Monument!!. Seriously, it's cool up there admiring the view around the city and over to the bridge. Only costs two quid as well and you get a certificate.

Another vote for these from me. I did a Shakespeare and Dickens route through the City and you certainly get a knowledgable guide and to see places that you'd never normally notice!no, im a londoner and I can't stand the idea.
Brick Lane on a sunday is a fun place to be if you dont mind crowds of young trendy things. Bars, markets, food stalls, art galleries etc.
Broadway Market on a saturday is also excellent, and close to some good and unusual restaurants - (buen ayre, gourmet san) plus some funky art shops on columbia road. bonus woman points for taking her to the up-and-coming jewellry and clothes design shops.
On the opposite side of london, Kew Gardens, and the pubs in Hammersmith (the Dove, the Old Ship etc) are lovely. Very chilled out.
