Conservation volunteering holidays in South Africa

They want £1199 for 2 weeks, £1849 for 4 weeks, £2699 for 8 weeks and £3699 for 12 weeks. Thats not including flights.

Has anyone done one or something similar? Seems expensive considering you ahve to work when you get there!

Any alternative ideas?
