Off to Paphos next week (getting married smile) for a week.

Anyone have any 'must not miss' things that we need to do?

Thanks in advance.

Eat at the Five Georges.

Avoid anything with 'Aphrodite' in the name.

Drink Keo

Go to the No Name bar and chose some vinyl.

There's a Casa Habanos (Havana) selling world class cigars at great prices if you like that sort of thing.

i've never been in feb so i'd imagine a lot of resort be shut/very quiet, all dependant on weather but a jeep safari to akamas region always a grin, there's not a lot else in paphos apart from hotels, bars and eateries.

Usual trips to troodos mountains and nicosia etc.

good luck with wedding .

Tip: Either get a 4x4, or watch out for the multiple option directions.

< this way to Troodos (1) | This way to Troodos (2) >

Each route has a "grade" of road. I can't remember which way it goes, but one will be a nice metalled road surface. The other start out the same then degrade to, well eventually a grassy hill with no way out other than the one you have just come down. Oh and no traction. Is it me, or is it getting dark?......

If you hire a car, its worth getting insurance for across the border to see what its like on the turkish side, have a nice holiday tho, there is 20cm of snow up the mountains this week.

Hire a 4x4 and seek out a village called Vretsia. Its tucked away in the hills down a dirt track. It was a Turkish village that was 'voluntarily' abandoned in 1975 after the Greek Cypriot government turned the power off. Its still preserved as one or two people still live there. Its a bit surreal, especially as when you get to the end of the village there's a large and newish touristy style bar. Well there was in 2003, despite there being apparently no one to go there.

You can get time-limited marriages now?

No-one told me about them; it was 'life' or nothing frown

Better grin from 2WD safari of Akamas region in a Daewoo Lanos driving from Polis to Paphos through the ntional park. Now that's fun. Luckily the car wasn't in the best condition before the trip!
