What to do in Boston?
Discussion
I am off to Boston for a long weekend at the end of next month, and need to plan a few things to do (other than aimlessly wonder around!). I will be on my own and am young(ish).
So far i have- NHL game (bruins vs leafs), NFL (patriots vs rams), gig (broken social scene). So thats all i have planned at the moment, what else could i do? I dont want it too packed as i had that with my NYC trip last year, this time i want something vaguely relaxing!

Try Quincy Market. It has 30+ food outlets selling food from all over the world, particularly worth doing if your hungry. Its not far from Boston Common so if you do eat too much you can just roll down the hill to the park. Duck tours around Boston are quite good with some great views from the river, they leave from the Pru Building - the tall one with the mast. There is also a rather sobering memorial to the victims of the Holocaust there as well. If that is a bit to relaxing and boring, a trip up across the border into New Hampshire to a shooting range will wake you up, most have a large choice of machine guns and assault rifles

Don't plan on eating at the Cheers bar, it's nothing like in reality!
Get down to the harbour, they do whaling trips which take 3 hours and they go right out (hopefully the season is still on), aquarium is there too with a massive internal tank
Downtown Crossing is er good for some shopping (Macy's et al)....but Boylston Street is more upmarket! Wasn't that impressed with the Prudential for shopping.
Legal Seafoods is good and all over the place for seafood or even a good steak.
On the junction of Arlington Street and Stuart Street there is a fantastic steak house (behind the Park Plaza)
Get on the red line and go over to Harvard
Get on the C line and head into Coolidge Corner, some good bars there and a trendy area and less touristy.
If you're looking for some dodgy clubs there's a street down the side of Fenway Park baseball ground with a few.
