I went dubai on Xmas day last year. It was a good heat, and surprisingly, everywhere was incredibly decked out for xmas.

May be some fairly good deals on offer this year?

If 7 to 8 hours is genuinely your limit I'd probably look at The Gambia. December is dry season and you're much more likely to get properly hot weather around 30 degrees rather than just hoping for low to mid 20s.

Oman would be another option if you want more to see and do, although it'll generally be a bit cooler.

Egypt would normally fit the brief as well. I've done Marsa Alam over Christmas and it was sunny but quite windy, although personally with the current situation in the region I wouldn't be considering the Red Sea at the moment.

The problem at Christmas is that if you want reliably hot rather than hopefully warm, you're pretty much at the limit of what you can reach from the UK in 7 or 8 hours.

Goa? it's at the top end of your flight time, but, it's fab, cheap, hot, amazing food, peaceful (pick the right beach to stay at - Patnem for us). BA do a good premium economy to Delhi.

There will be fantastic deals. Check out sir bani yas island, a break between there and Abu Dhabi would be a good holiday.

I’ve spent the last 2 new years Xmas/NY in India and will likely head there again this year. Rajasthan though not the coast. Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur would be my choices, there’s a fantastic hotel chain (Raas) who have properties in all 3 and have a package starting from Jaipur with transfers between them.

Think you are going to be limited to Barbados and Puntacana with TUI. I dont know if TUI are operating a PUJ service this year.

I think your only other option would be Jamaica but its well through the 8 hours limit and more like 10 and a bit.

Would be closer to 8 on the way back though if that helps.

So those 3 going west.

If you want to go east then your only option is Dubai really or somewhere in that neighbourhood.

Wife's birthday is mid December, so we've done Barbados at that time. It gets very expensive/busy for Christmas. I remember flying out on the last Saturday - IIRC 22nd - and on the evening before, we were on a rooftop bar in Oystins and the private jets were flocking in from all over. When our plane home took off, the pj's were stacked all over the airport.
