Hi all

Appreciate this might be asking a lot and not wanting to fully take away from the joy of discovery but I thought I’d ask the collective for some recommendations that we could pencil in to our trip to supplement and bolster any plans.

Whether it’s a ‘must visit’ place or just somewhere to go should we find ourselves in and around the area then please do make a suggestion, it’d be greatly received.

So off on a small road trip;

Netherlands
Germany
Luxembourg
Belgium

So broadly looking for recommendations for any breweries/micro breweries or maybe even a music venue for our stopovers if anyone has any personal experiences please.

I’ve done some initial searches but sometimes it’s tricky to tell exactly what type of place is. Love to try some local beers and if somewhere also had a little live music too that’d be a bonus.

Karlsruhe - not currently set in stone, so if someone recommends staying overnight somewhere else nearby then open to that. Just driving around Black Forest the next day and on to Stuttgart

Stuttgart - night out. Areas to head to/avoid? Where to go for some good beers?

Luxembourg - any recommendations on areas to stay here or places to go for a night

Antwerp - area/hotel recommendations. Breweries/venues

Hope that’s enough to go on and thanks in advance

If you're in Stuttgart itself, may as well get some beers in at Schönbuch

Karlsruhe - we stopped off when we went here.

Stayed at a cheap and cheerful B & B brand hotel. Walked through the train station - or under it was a walkway - and crossed the tram lines to a place with a nice beer garden. Erste Fracht Braugasthaus was the place - just googled it. Also a nice Indian too - Maharaja.

Other than that - don't know of anywhere else - it was a 1 night stop over for us before driving to Munich.

Much appreciated. It’ll be the same for us, just a night which is partly why I thought I’d reach out to the hive mind for personal recommendations due to limited time in places

Thanks guys

Anyone else have any suggestions to add to our list? Luxembourg or Antwerp perhaps? Areas to stay in or places to go? Maybe not just bar/nightlife but possibly history museum or similar maybe?

as opposed to Antwerp, I've been to both Bruges and Ghent last year, and both were excellent for selection of places to drink/breweries in towns whilst being small enough to be able to wander round between all the main bits with ease.

Thanks SoliD

Appreciate the post and to be honest Antwerp was chosen broadly because it made the next days morning drive to the port a little shorter.

With that said on reflection I think we might switch to Ghent. Looks like a great place to visit, even if only for an afternoon and evening.

Getting closer now, looking forward to it. Just need to get some hotels (with suitable parking) booked!
