Long weekend in Dublin coming up in February.
We're 'room only', so would be interested to hear suggestions/recommendations for places to eat, especially for breakfast the first day as we're arriving late on the Friday... proper Irish breakfast required... we're staying near The Custom House, and we'll be on foot.
Also, 'must sees', over and above the Guinness Storehouse and St. Patrick's?
Cheers.

I was disappointed in the Guinness Experience - it was polished but lacked the personal touch of the whisky distillary tour we did.
Had a nice evening meal at "The Shack"

Based on my first time in Dublin almost exactly a year ago:

Breakfast at Keoghs Cafe (in the Temple Bar area) and the EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum (next to the Custom House).

Doheny & Nesbitt - Lower Baggot Street. The best pub in Dublin. You won't be disappointed.

Open top bus trip is good especially to help you get your bearings.
Not been for a few years but we did this one I think as you can get on and off.

Same time last year we did Trinity College / book of kells tour and the Jeanie Johnstone and enjoyed both.

We ate in “Fire” one night and had an excellent meal…quite expensive but really great steak and nice cocktails. O’Donoghues and Toners just nearby are good bars.

Kilmainham Gaol Is a must but you must prebook tickets. The guides are extremely knowledgeable and make sure you watch the Italian Job before you go wink

Have a pint in Temple Bar just to say you have but it is a tourist trap with tourist prices and there are plethora of better bars not too far away from it and your wallet will be thankful but Dublin is not a cheap city in any case.

Guinness tour is alright but the Jameson tour is better but you’re there so it s only right you sample both smile

Tons of history as you can imagine so try and book a walking tour.

Great city and quite compact so there s a lot to see on foot (although you ll need to get a tram to the Gaol).

Kilmainham Gaol.

St. Michan's mummies are worth a visit.

Preferred the Jameson distillery tour over the Guinness equivalent.

McDaid's for a pint.

Are there any left? Passed one on Thursday night in Drumcondra and it is closed.

Back to the OP The Cobblestone is a great bar if you want to hear some traditional music. A lot easier on the pockets than most bars. Avoid Temple Bar like the plague.

Check out a game of Gaelic Football or Hurling in Croke Park if there is any on during your stay.

Was a good few years ago but we had a lovely meal at Marco Pierre White's steakhouse. The open top bus tour is good, especially as you are on foot.
Can't remember the name of the hotel we stayed in but it was by the river.
