Thoughts on Fishing Trip(s) - Atlantic Spain, also Canada?

My son will finish GCSEs next June, and - coincidentally - my next annual contract rollover is June 4th, and I'm planning a few months off and career change.

He likes fishing. I don't and won't, but enjoy eating them, driving holidays, and reading.

So Plan 1 is ferry to Santander or Bilbao, then some gentle touring up or down the Spanish / Portuguese or Spanish / French Atlantic coasts. He fishes, goes on charters, etc. I swim, sip cocktails, visit interesting ruins, etc. Then ferry home from Spain or France.

Plan 2 would be Canada, hire car, similar idea but presumably fresh water rather than ocean fishing.

Give us both something to look forward over what's going to be a tough six months! Anyone have any thoughts or insights at this pre-planning stage?

My fishing holiday bucket list would also include bonefish in Cuba and trout fishing in New Zealand. Have enjoyed charters out of Madeira, and Bali. There is also fishing for big catfish in Spain, carp in France.

Oh yeah. Also someone I know on Facebook has just come back from Zambia, tiger fish and vundu catfish from the Zambezi, looked amazing.
