A few of the low cost car rental providers set maximum daily and total contract mileage limits. For example, a rental car with ok mobility for an 8 day duration stipulates a 300 km/day or 3000 km/contract maximum mileage limit. However, 300 km x 8 days amounts to 2,400 km, whereas 3000 km / 8 days amounts to 375 km per day. Similar maths can be applied to 2 day rentals where the daily and contract mileage limits remain the same. Huh?
Do most rental cars share telemetry data with the rental provider on a daily basis and therefore the 300 km/day is to be strictly abided by? Or, is the daily mileage limit merely an average guideline and the total contract mileage is the crucial limit?
