I'm planning a trip to Scotland in October, Helensburgh to scatter ashes, they'll be 14 of us, we're thinking we might drive up to Skye for a couple of days, catch the ferry from Sconser to Raasay, there's a hotel.

While the ferry to Raasay takes cars, I'm thinking we might leave the cars on Skye and go over as foot passengers.

From the hotel to the start of Calum's Road is about 8 miles, if we walk it, then Calum's Road, then all the way back its 20 miles, I'm not sure we're up for that far.

Does anyone know if there's a taxi? Horse and cart? Minibus? Or should we take the cars over?

Unless things have gone mad, there is no taxi on Raasay. It's not expensive to take your car over, I'd do that It only takes about 15 minutes if you leave from Sconser and isn't expensive.. Once you get to his road (by the wheelbarrow), you can get out and it's a nice walk.
