Skiing 25-26 Season who/where/when?
Discussion
If I were you, I'd avoid La Plagne in Feb. It's the most visited ski resort in the world and Feb is peak busy! Especially if you clash with a big french holiday too.
The lift system there is one big bottleneck - although once you're up and about you'd probably be ok. I only ski on Saturdays in Feb so I never really see the full queues aside from on facebook etc.

Hi Tim, many thanks for the reply. Is La Plagne any worse than Tignes in Feb HT? Only been there once before over NY and was really busy on NYD, but figured that was typical. Where would you recommend in Feb HT, given we have zero choice on date due to taking the kids? Is there any particular French Alps resort that handles the busier times better than others? I can't wait for the time we can go outside of school holidays!

Currently looking at Italy. Haven't been there since I was a teenager (Cervinia).
Any recommendations?
Not a family holiday. Group of gents, between 35 and 50. All good skiers.
I don't like to be negative but went to Sestriere a couple of years ago and would never go back. Everywhere can have bad snow, but coupled with that was rubbish restaurants on the mountain, bang average apes, poor piste bashing over night and some really old lifts. Any recommendations?

Morzine for the family trip is in the bank for Feb and we re just in the process of organising the lads trip for Jan - likely to be Gerlos in Austria. Can t wait.
Morzine Half term 2026 for us.I'm on the board of Governors, so can't really take the kids out in term time !
What would I do? Fine myself?
Let myself off?
hang on.......
Also planning the lads trip for late March, we are toying with Austria.
Anyone got any back-of-envelope planning tips for 3 days/4nights in Austria, probably March '26 ?
I did a long weekend in Saalbach in early March and the snow wasn't great. We had a hire car so also did a day in Zell an See (better but snow was sketchy below 1800m) and Kaprun (good snow as so high but quite a limited ski area with lots of short runs) so in short my recommendation for Austria at the time you're thinking of going is a high altitude resort. In terms of logistics, we flew into Munich, lots of flights to choose from.

Courmayeur? access to some decent off piste if you want it, along with some good pistes and Chamonix back through the tunnel in 45 minutes if the weather is better on that side of the massif.Any recommendations?

La Rosiere is easily accessible too.
Enough apres for a group like that too...

For early '26 I expect it'll be the usual Valmeinier trip and then maybe another, longer week somewhere else in Europe. Really enjoyed Ischgl & Galtur in April, so maybe back there.

It s a long time since I ve skied in Flumserberg! It s not a bad drive from Lux, so a weekend is possible ..
Us, that s me, wife and CC#1, now she s finished her Masters, probably to Flaine mid-end Jan 2026.
It s a very easy drive!
Swing a right off the A3 after the Marche and before the tunnels, drive down the valley at glarus to schwanden and then its a left there and on to elm. great place too. alot smaller. worth it for a day. Or keep straight until linthal and take the funcular up to braunwald. either orUs, that s me, wife and CC#1, now she s finished her Masters, probably to Flaine mid-end Jan 2026.

Hmm useful thanks.Went went with the "go high" thoughts for last year on March 30th and ended up choosing Val Thorens.
