Norway Car Hire
Discussion
We are off to the Lofoten Islands in late July / early August. I know everything in Norway is expensive, but have you seen the price of car hire over there?!?
Does anyone know of any way to get something at a reasonable price over there, while avoiding dodgy back street outfits? Flying in and out of
Harstad/Narvik Airport, Evenes.

A couple of years ago we saved quite a bit by booking with Budget on the Norweigen site rather than than the UK / international site. Still expensive but a worthwhile saving.
Helped that my wife speaks Norweigen but you could probably manage by using a trasnlation app.
Thanks for this. I shall give it a try.Helped that my wife speaks Norweigen but you could probably manage by using a trasnlation app.

Not used this company myself but know plenty of others who have when going on fishing trips to Norway and who reccomend them.

This must be very location dependant. We went over to Norway for skiing last winter (Jan 24) and whilst everything was very expensive, car hire was BY FAR the cheapest component of our entire holiday. 6 days in a RAV4 was only £153! (That was Enterprise, directly from Oslo airport, booked directly with Enterprise)

We go to Iceland regularly and there’s definitely a local’s rate for pretty much everything. As such, my wife now books everything over the phone, it’s saved us a fortune over the years. Only issue now is that an increasing number of service industry workers don’t speak Icelandic. Helped that my wife speaks Norweigen but you could probably manage by using a trasnlation app.
