2 x travel insurance policies. Can i claim on both?
Discussion
Having to leave Japan a week early due to a family emergency.
New flight booked but going to lose money on the flight i should of been on in a weeks time.
All flights booked separately.
One policy runs out in a week and i have a new policy that started two weeks ago.
Can i use one policy for flights and one for hotels in order to keep below maximum claim level or are you only allowed to claim on one policy?
Any help greatly appreciated but i will be in the air for the next 15hrs so may not be able to immediately respond.
Thanks in advance.

You can try. So long as you aren't claiming the same loss on both policies and receiving double your losses, then you're doing nothing illegal. But a standard travel insurance claim question is to ask if you have any other policies in force that could cover the loss, and you'll have to answer that honestly. I suspect both insurers will end up talking to each other and splitting the claims 50/50 on each loss.
