My brother in law turns 40 in October and I am looking for ideas for a few days away incorporating a sporting event.
We like most sports, Rugby Union and NFL being top of the list. We’ve been to Wembley for the NFL and Twickenham for the Autumn internationals but I’d like to stay somewhere where the stadium is closer to hotels, bars, restaurants etc.
I’ve been looking at Cardiff and Edinburgh, I’ve never been to either. Has anyone got any suggestions/ recommendations?

If we are talking about a city break within the UK then Cardiff and Newcastle are the obvious choices that spring to mind. Both have stadiums within the city centre but Cardiff stadium did seem to be literally a few minutes walk from various lively streets with bars, restaurants, hotels etc. Newcastle was around 15 minutes walk from memory.

Europe does open up the option to some excellent cities with mainly football, bug also basketball if you head east.

Not necessarily the UK. I’d be happy to look further afield.
My wife has suggested New York to watch the Giants or Jets but that’s more than I want to spend.
She does love him thoughrolleyes
