Had a flight Belfast to Leeds which abandoned on approach at LBA due to fog.

We stacked for ten minutes in the loop then were informed we were going to the nearest available airport that could host us……Belfast.

Told ground handlers would help us at Belfast, no one there, it was 11PM so I booked on the 6AM flight straight away and decided to just kick around the airport.

Until they outlined they were closing it and kicked us all out at 1130PM.

Got a taxi with some others to a hotel, Aer Lingus offered majority of folks a flight 2 days later (which was no use to me).

Anyway, filled out the online form when I got back and got a periodic apology they are processing the claim but are a bit behind.

The flight was in September and the cynic in me thinks if they stretch it out enough it falls out of scope of them needed to refund me / us.

Any suggestions?

I’m down a second flight, a taxi and hotel which they said they’d cover but seem unable to….
