Where can I go in March for a long weekend that's warm and cheap? I'd like views and hikes and probably not a city.

The obvious options seem to be:
- Portugal (Algarve)
- South of Spain
- Madeira
- Malta
- Canaries (might be too far?)

The Welsh grey and wet winters are starting to get to me.

Nerja, Competa, Rio Gordo .... anywhere in Axarquía basically. Should be 18-20 ish degrees and you have to be very unlucky to not enjoy a sunny week with 320 days a year of sunshine. I cycle around that area but tts very popular for walkers. Away from the coast its quiet and accomodation is very reasonable ... as is eating and drinking.

I'm off to Morocco but I prefer city breaks so it is Marrakesh. There are lots of desert and atlas mountain trips available though. I booked flights with Ryanair and accommodation separately and it came to about 200gbp for 4 nights, Monday to Friday.
