We are going to be staying in Reims for a few days in June as part of a larger European trip.
We will have our own car with us so driving is not an issue.
Already booked an AirB&B with parking in central Reims.
We want to go to at least one champagne house tour whilst we are there.
I have been before and did Tattinger and Piper Heidsiek tours.
My wife hasnt been before.
My question is which tour is the best one to go on?

Can only comment on the Pommery experience - which is great. It’s all underground in a massive cave complex which is cool enough by itself, but we accidentally latched onto a tour group which made it even more interesting. Huge works of art in there. Having arrived with no particular expectations it was absolutely nuts. Highly recommended.
If it helps it was also the only one (of an extremely small sample) we found where you could just rock up - seems like it’s big enough to just let folk roam around.

must be 25 years ago now. On a French tour driving in Reims area Sunday afternoon. Past a farm gate with Champagne Advertised. I've always remembered the name Ariston Fils. Knocked on the farmhouse door. Sleepy bloke came out, took us to show us his champagne farm. We bought a few bottles (I'm no expert but it was most pleasant) and got a Christmas card for many years after.

We did an organised trip in a mini bus when we were there and it was an easy way to visit a few champagne houses , no cars were driven that day but Champagne was tasted ! We will have our own car with us so driving is not an issue.

Make sure you get a Crit air permit for Reims.
Only a few quid and they deliver them in a few weeks.

Stayed overnight on the outskirts of Remis last summer & took a bus into the centre for the evening.
If it helps... didn't have time for any of the house tours, but we did find a small champagne bar inside the covered market (Halles Boulingrin, 1929), which is well worth visiting, plus the house champagne was excellent.
Ate at Le Bocal, a very good fish restaurant and drank at The Market Brewhouse (which had Brewpoint beer on tap), both opposite the market.

One thing I really enjoyed when we were there was renting electric bikes, and doing the champagne trail out towards the vineyards, lots of the smaller champagne houses you can drop into.
Just don’t go on a Sunday, they’ll all be closed.
Oh and one place that really pleasantly surprised us was GH Martel. Small champagne house, has a cellar/cave tour but shockingly affordable decent champagne. Worked out about £25 a bottle, brought a load back for when we want to open a bottle but not break the bank.
