Thanks for that, Zeughauskeller looks interesting.
Budget I'm figuring 50CHF-ish, I can't really go too heavy on the drinking as I have stuff to do later, so food and perhaps a beer or two.
Just figured it was a more interesting layover than sitting in an airport lounge for a couple of hours!

Zeughauskeller is a complete tourist trap, but for good reason and plenty of locals visit too. It’s normally top of the list when we have first time visitors. You’ll be in budget for a main and a couple of beers. Budget I'm figuring 50CHF-ish, I can't really go too heavy on the drinking as I have stuff to do later, so food and perhaps a beer or two.

Unfortunately you’ve missed game season. Zürich style veal (item 47 on the menu) is the traditional dish of Zurich and is similar to a stroganoff. The cordon bleu are decent and I’d recommend a Rösti as a side.
It’s about a 10 minute walk down the main shopping street from the main station or the tram stop Paradeplatz is outside. If it’s a nice day, after lunch, continue down the same street for a couple of minutes and you’ll reach the lake.
ETA as you are on your own, you may end up sharing a table.
