My wife used the services of a Max Spielman shop near us.

Small extra fee to pay for their services, had the photos done on Tuesday, they sorted it all out, new passport arrived on our door step on Friday.
Must be a record.

I recently used the online application form with digital photo. Submitted application on Saturday and received passport the following Friday; no additional fees to pay. Really slick and kept informed by text every time my application moved to the next stage of the process.

Heard of so many nightmares that people have had.

One lad at work had to lose two days of his holiday because of problems although he (thought) he had done it in plenty of time.

New passport took 9 days, that includes one public holiday, a weekend and me having to send some documents.

The decision to delivery took a grand total of 2 days.

I did mine 2 weeks before Christmas, and it took 2 days for them to check my old passport, print my new one, and post it out. I was utterly amazed.

I did all the online bits on Tuesday morning, and posted my old passport on Tuesday afternoon.

Got a text on the Wednesday from saying they had received my old passport, and had approved my application, and had printed my new one. It was posted by them on Thursday.

New passport arrived on Friday morning.

My son renewed his passport on-line just before Christmas - took four days for the new one to arrive. Seems that is the new normal and one government department that can actually do things on time every time.

I depends if you still look enough like your previous one. If you do, take a photo on your phone and submit it. They are really quick if they don't ask for additional checks / someone to sign off on your photo.
The system is really smooth, if you tic the box for messages, you get text message each day something changes, so you can see application received, accepted, sent for print, posted etc

Renewed mine last week, was expecting at least 2-3 weeks tbh. Submitted online on a weekend and posted my old passport on a Monday.
New passport landed the following Monday and the old one arrived back on the Tuesday.
Was actually quite impressed but then it does cost nearly £100!

Did ours last November and opened a thread I was so impressed!

Photo on a Tuesday, forms submitted online Wednesday, new passports on Saturday.

Can the guy who has sorted out passport applications now be set the task of sorting out the NHS, please?

Ordered my replacement in march 2022, with COVID restrictions easing up in most countries I was expecting 3-4 weeks but it took 5 working days.

It was done all online with no extra fees, I was rather impressed considering the surge in holiday bookings at the time.

I renewed mine online back in August last year in a bit of a panic. Took 5 working days.

Today I notified Gov. it was lost after being used once... banghead

let's see how long a replacement takes.

Royal Mail managed to screw up my replacement process by losing my old Passport on it's way to the Passport Office. The Passport Office staff were disinclined to do anything about it for some time, as they thought it would arrive eventually. Thankfully I pushed as it never did. Once they agreed it was lost, I had the new one within four days.

Just noticed this thread as coincidently we had our pictures done this morning and renewal forms have now been filled in and dropped off back at the Post Office.

Fingers crossed it's a record contender. cool

10 minutes hehe

I had both of mine renewed at once using the four hour same day service...and when I came back to collect, they had made the same error on both of them (their error, not mine!), and they remade the pair in under ten mins after I pointed it out.

Went to a Post Office on 10 Jan for their digital service - they take your picture take your particulars and do the form. Cost £104.50. Seems it would have cost the same if I'd taken my own photo in a booth so bit of a saving doing it this way.

Just had a text saying passport will be here tomorrow morning. Assuming it is can't complain, didn't need the passport urgently.
