Hi all,

I've got 3 boys, 13, 15, and 18. We are looking for an activity / adventure holiday. We've done the standard beach holiday to death, and our favourite bit is usually the activities (snorkeling, biking, quads, boat etc).

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good activity holiday. Either in Feb or (more likely) April. Something where either the activities are included, or you have lots of choice. Climbing, caving, kayaking, white water rafting etc. would all be great.

I've of course tried googling, but the top hits are all seemingly well overpriced, or don't tick all of the boxes. Ideally abroad, but it doesn't have to be.

I've never done a trip like this, so if anyone has any ideas I'm very open to suggestions.

Thanks,

Bill

Skiing??

ETA April is a bit early for climbing/caving etc in Europe due to the weather.

Les Arc / Bourg Saint Maurice - mountain biking and there are loads of river based activities in the valley

How does a potentially cold/wet trip to Scotland appeal? hehe

Canyoning, Kayaking, Rafting, Caving, Quad Biking and Tubing here - https://www.naelimits.co.uk/

I'd recommend staying in Dunkeld or Pitlochry - then you could also combine with the Land Rover experience which is in the area, and clay pigeon shooting.

I've done all of this a few times in all weathers and thoroughly enjoyed it

Ah you may be right, but we tend to have fairly mild Easter's here, so I was hoping it wouldn't be too bad. We have aimed for Egypt / Turkey in April usually, but we're a little tired of it really.

I've never heard of this, but I'll take a look for sure. Happy to plan the trip around one 'core' activity and then pick up some extras whilst we're there.

Ah good shout... the joy of Scotland is that you never go expecting good weather anyway, so if the sun shines it's a bonus. I've just looked at the naelimits site (great name), and that's the sort of thing I'd been thinking of - I was just hoping for more sun biggrin

However, the weather isn't really critical, I think we would prefer an adventure...

Thanks!

April in the Alps (Bourg and Les Arcs) is still definitely ski season. Then everything goes quiet until June.

You might be lucky in the Sierra Nevada but suspect it's still too early.

Les Arcs will be covered in snow in Feb-April.

The Alps would work in the Summer, but not now. Can highly recommend Les Gets or Morzine in the summer, my 2 boys loved it - mountain biking, rafting, paddleboarding, lake swimming, hiking, parasailing, golf, zip lines from the top of mountains, etc.

For Feb-April you'll need to find somewhere warmer.

These companies offer what you're after, a good friend has used Neilson many times and recommends them.

The Neilson family active holidays would be a good candidate for you.

Acorn does oversea activity trips too.
