Going on a stag-do with I believe 9 of us. We're not a roudy lot, I know the attitude of a lot of cities has turned away from stag parties etc.

We've got a couple of the usual things booked, shooting, karting etc. Any recommendations as to bars/restaurants/areas to go?

We've done some further research and getting mixed vibes for crime with things like taxis, so we'll be using ubers. Also read about bars knowing you're tourists and upcharging etc. Anyone been recently with a group and knows where would be accommodating for larger parties.

We'll be staying at the Grandior, just north of the train station from what I can see.

Overall we're pretty sorted for activities, just looking for some either must visit or must not visit places & any general advice!

My suggestion would be to get out of the city centre and head out into the suburbs. The zizkhov district is just the other side of the train station from wenclas square but its totally different from the tourist haunts.

The TV tower in zizkhov has a bar/restaurant at the top and gives great views over the city and the crawling babies are pretty unique.

I was over in October. The go karting was brilliant. Starts inside then goes outside, I was told it's the longest track in Europe.

We done a boat party was truly awful and best avoided.

Restaurants we went to an Irish themed pub, not sure why think the Football was on but it was really expensive. I'd say go of the beaten track and we found a couple of nice places.

We used the escotters. Was good fun albeit sketchy at times.

We also frequented a pub called Hospoda U Tiskarny was very basic but it felt more local, great beer and I sure it was about 90p a pint.

I came to say the same thing!

I don't think I've ever felt cold like I did in Prague one December, but it does make for a nice atmosphere. Loved the old town over the bridge and the food, and the draft Budvar was excellent.

....and the Becherovka drunk

This pub - U Vyst?elenýho oka is in zizkhov and is great local boozer. The name means The Shot Out Eye, and is named after a king who caught an arrow Harold-style. It has long tables and benches, great beer and pads above the urinals to lean against while you pee. If you don't act like lads on a stag do you should be fine.

Good info thus far people, thank you!

All aligns in to what we were thinking. We're all hardy north east Scotland dwellers so we're used to the cold...

Not really, it's gonna be bloody freezing hehe

Good call going in to bars in a couple groups. Have found a few places recommended by folk asking similar on tripadvisor etc.

Look up tankovn pubs - basically fresh beer delivered daily into a large tank for the freshest pint you'll ever have!

As well as zizkhov vinohrady is another area to try close by

This place we went to a few times - https://www.uprovaznice.cz/
Used to to be called the Rope Makers Wife - Did a great steak and green beans dish when we were there.

If you walk down Wenceslas square in the evening in any more than two or three men at a time you will be harassed by the bar touts that get a few coins for getting you in the owners bar. They are harmless but get annoying, its every few meters though as the next bar with their touts take over all the way down the street.

Down Ve Smeckach street is 'Darlings' which is a strip club with brothel options, opposite is 'The Sauna Club' where you get handed a menu of the times with the girls against the prices - Stay away unless this is your thing. Not for me but some of our group went back the next day.

'Goldfinger's' the the north end of Wenceslas Square was a lot less sleezy. Its an old Cinema so you actually get a large stage show of dancing girls going on, table top dances, private booths if desired but only dancing and nothing more. Beers will be pricey so check the menu before purchase

The Letna beer gardens is pretty cool, although may be very cool at this time of year. There's some amazing views of the city from the beer garden, and as a bonus the beer is very cheap.

Stayed there in December last year, couldn't fault it, the breakfast robot is quite amusing. wink
We were traveling as a couple so slightly less 'lads lads lads' than a stag do, although we did get thrown out of one bar for unknowingly gatecrashing a private party. paperbag really nice Italian across the road from the Hotel 'Papaiolo' although your group would probably fill the place. hehe
Wenceslas Square was being dug up, and didn't show any signs of being finished soon.
The whole place is very 'touristy' which if you are the tourist you can't really complain about rotate we found some nice places outside of the central area but not sure Art Galleries are really Stag Do venues hehe

There is a YouTuber called Honest Guide that does guides to all the local Prague scams. Many and varied. Also suggests decent places that won't rip you off

Some good calls from everyone!

The above mentioned youtuber, I just mentioned that in our group chat and one of the guys ended up watching a bunch of his videos the other day coincidentally! I shall watch tonight I think.

We'll likely be avoiding the likes of strippers etc. Not our bag really & the horror stories of Eastern European ones are always offputting. Though the goldfingers place could be a happy medium ground for everyone?

Food & bar recommendations look good, too!

U Fleku

Microbrewery and beer hall, possibly the oldest in the city having opened in 1499.

Decent beer, food, staff and atmosphere. Groups not a problem, that’s what beer halls are designed for.
