Birmingham Airport - alternative parking
Discussion
Cheap long weekend away in a few months flying out of Birmingham International. The flight is cheap, the parking cost however is 50% more than the flight. And 10% of the value of the car!
Anyone know if there is anything to stop parking in Birminigham International Train Station and hoping onto the shuttle. It starts running at 0330 apparently.
The Avanti advance parking site doesn't seem to preclude it. The T&Cs are short though, and the last one is 'all other terms apply'!
Cost is a more reasonable £12 ish a day. I'd happily purchase £6 rtn train ticket to say Coventry but couldn't prove that it was used (as it won't be!)
The main risk is that I need to arrive at the car park around 1 hour before the trains start running - therefore if wardens or cameras are on the lookout I'll be easy to spot!
Any experiences, especially around 5am?
Ps. I would.have been happy to arrive by train or coach- but non are running that early!

I've used it many times, although not at 5AM, when flying out of BHX.
The chance of anyone physically being there is zero. Make sure to pay well in advance, occassionally it does get "sold out", although not an issue at weekends in my experience.
The only issue I've had is with the barcode readers at the entrance, I take a decent printed physical copy with me now.

Totally fine to park at the station. You don't even need to prebook. I always park there, for short and long trips. In fact it is cheaper per day for short trips. There is nothing to say that you need to be travelling by rail. It is actually quicker than parking at the aiport because the monorail takles you directly to security (assuming you have checked in online).
