Yes, twins.

Have found this place... https://www.edenresort.pt/en/

I know it's a short drive to the town/beach but that doesn't bother us.

Anyone been here before?

We have done Albufeira twice this year, Eden Resort and Nau Sao Rafael Suites.

Depends on the time of year you go and what you plan to do outside the resort.

Our kids are 5 and 6, so loved both hotels….

Eden - good location to old town, amazing customer service and better food, however pools are very small.

Nau Sao - great location as it’s close to the beach and the marina , amazing pools, however food and drink was average.

Given the age of your kids, I would suggest Jupiter hotel.

If you have any questions fire away 👍🏻

This place always looked good

But I’ve never been AI to Portugal- always rented a Villa with pool in Pria de Luz.

I was just going to mention the Martinhal Sagres resort - some relatives visited a couple of years ago and were very impressed.

It is the western end of the Algarve though and can get quite windy.

Lovely place^^^^^^^^^^^^^ but you are missing out going AI to the Algarve, the are lots of amazing restaurants around that part of the world.

I agree. I lived there a number of years ago and have just returned from a fortnight there.

We stayed in Estoi for the first week and the Hilton Vilamoura for the second week. There are so many restaurants of every type and prices are approximately a third cheaper than the UK. AI is personally my idea of hell.

I can be seriously windy , but the hotel is nice . Agree on AI too / the area has amazing restaurants

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Have been before many times but not for about 10 years, so know how good the restaurants and food can be.

Frustratingly my kids are quite fussy eaters and not that adventurous when it comes to ordering from menus, however, we did AI earlier this year in Turkey and we discovered they were a bit more adventurous. Having all the food displayed right in front of them helped.

Can you not just take a villa here and eat where you want? Or is it AI only?

Yes we've been about 7 or 8 years ago and liked it although we were self catering.

Basically its a resort of apartments and villas that allegedly were going to be sold off individually but something happened so they got bought up as a whole and used for holiday lettings instead.

there are loads of pools round the complex and a main restaurant which is used for meals for the AI side of things.

Its abpout 30 mins walk into old town and was abpout 5 euro back in a taxi but probably more like 10 euro now. Just down the hill from the complex is a small supermarket and a couple of restaurants but there is plenty of choice in albufeira itself.

I'd happily go back again. If you need a car i'd recommend Drive4fun who were easy to deal with at the time.
