It's been a long time since I've flown from Manchester.
We are flying in October and looking at staying the night before in an airport hotel, probably the Double Tree, as its an early flight.
Is it best to just go in long stay parking and make way to the hotel?
Or is parking at the hotel an option?
I'm not doing meet and greet and I just don't trust it.

The Clayton Hotel is the best one I’ve used - park, stay & fly. They taxi you into the airport as part of the package and it works well. It’s actually walkable from the airport if you only have hand luggage.

Other than that, I park in the multi storey to avoid the cowboys that provide alternative parking.

We use meet and greet at Manchester, very impressed with it.

Worth looking into if it works logically for you.

ETA: always use the official Manchester Airport M&G!

Meet and greet at the Clayton is the best onsite option but it still involves a bus at both ends I think.

Because of this, we stayed further out and used the t2 west multistory which is connected to the terminal which was great.

I always fly out of Manchester early doors.

Local hotel the night before, then drive to the multi storey attached to T2. Zero hassle, and not relying on anyone else

Just flew back into Manchester on Saturday and we used the Drop & Go carpark. Fairly easy to use and frequent busses to take you to and from the terminal. I'd use them again.

We had an issue coming back. The Mrs. booked the carpark as she had a discount from work. She booked Friday 30th as that's when we took off. I reminded her that the UK is 5 hours ahead of where we took off from, so we landed on the 31st. We got to the key collection point around 5:30am and scanned our ticket and got the message we had overstayed (our fault!) We were then instructed to use the overstay payment machine. This was out of order and were directed to the desk. This was shut so we were starting to panic. There was a phone on the desk, so we used that and explained the situation. At this point there was a family standing next to us who had done the same thing. The woman took pity on us and said we it happens all the time so authorised the ticket so we could get our keys and didn't charge us. We were expecting at best to pay a minimum day rate extra or at worst, an overstay fine of £50 or £100 maybe.

This is the answer.

Assume other Terminals have the same set up.

Same for me. Done it 2 years running, hassle free both times.

Considering you’re leaving your car for someone else to park it, is that car park a worthwhile amount cheaper than full meet and greet?

The multistory is best but they didn’t allow me to book 15 days in May as it was too long a break. It’s currently parked there now as I’m away for 7 days. It’s always hassle free, drive in and just drive out, it’s all on ANPR.

Same here - never had an issue with them at all 3 terminals. It is preferable to having to get all the stuff on and off a bus. That said, if I can I will try to use the multi storey but never available for longer stays.

Not looking forward to a long stay at Heathrow later in the year when we will have 4 cases and some hand luggage. The price for the cheapest option was somewhat higher than I would have liked but all the others were even higher! Still compared to the cost of the trip, it is a very small percentage.

I’ve got a booking for the T2/3 mid-stay car park for next month, as far as I can tell it’s a walk to the terminal, I assume spaces at the terminal end will be like hen’s teeth, but is it easy enough to get hold of a luggage trolley in there? Is it a long walk from there to T3? I’ve not flown out of Manchester before, not entirely sure what to expect!

I always use one of the multi storey car parks but you’re right you can only book them for a max of 14 days. Can’t say I’ve had any major issue with any of them.

Had to use one of the Jet Parks last year as we were away for more than 14 days, it was a flooded gravel waste ground at the bottom of the runway. st for the price!

Came back last night and it's so easy, straight out of arrivals and out with no fuss or bother.

I’ve used Drop & Go a few times, no issues and once you drop the car is only moves up / down a floor or two in the multi storey where they store it. ( my tracker shows it doesn’t move ). Reasonable price, easy process. Book via the airport website. Lots of cowboys around the area .
