Has anybody used this?

I like to think I'm reasonably intelligent and computer literate but my god this was a complete pain in the arse.

Firstly they had 6 self check-in terminals for about 300 people. There was a huge queue even though I got there 3 hours before the flight and I guess this was because everybody had the same problems I did. Firstly the passports wouldn't always be recognised. So then you type in the booking reference ( a problem when you're travelling in a group of 4 all with different booking references). Then, if you've got a Visa or foreign passport it needs to be checked by a member of staff. So you have to wait for the only member of staff covering the check-ins to come over, type in his ID, and approve the document. Then it churns out boarding passes and luggage tags. You have to be careful that the luggage tags are put on the right pieces of luggage which can be a bit tricky (but admittedly not Qatar Airlines fault). Then you have to go to the bag drop where it refuses to recognise the barcode on your boarding pass. So then you have to call the member of staff again. It was beyond ridiculous.

And after about 45 minutes of queuing they decided to inform those people who had checked in online that they had to go to a different set of desks.

To cut a long story short this was the worst self checkin experience I've had for years. We've travelled Qatar before and never had this problem. They need more self check-in terminals, a few more staff to help with issues, better technology and some sort of system that recognises those people who are not going to Qatar but just connecting.
