Booking.Com - avoiding scams

We're going on holiday to Dubai at the end of October. Normally I would have booked a hotel (and thanks tp PHers who have been helpful with recommendations). However this time round I've noticed it's possible to get a much better deal booking an apartment via Booking.Com. It's a 3 bedroom apartment overlooking Dubai Mall and Burj Al Khalifa.

Now I'm probably being very paranoid but I'm concerned about being scammed - what kind of checks should i do to make sure the apartment and the owners are legitimate and i won't be desperately looking for accommodation when I arrive in Dubai?
