Hey all! I’m going to the Nurburgring mid September this year and I’m looking at accommodation. What I can’t really seem to find anywhere is where is best to stay? While there’s some good options in Nurburg itself, would I be better staying in Adenau? With it being a better town I’m assuming it’s got some more bars and restaurants so will be easier to go for a beer and not having to worry about getting a lift back etc. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Been a while but I've always liked Adenau and stayed at the Hotel an der Nordschleife multiple times, grab a beer and walk up the hill opposite overlooking the track, then pizza/schnitzel etc at Pinocchio in Adenau, and a good time had by all smile

X2 I stay at An Der Nordschleife pretty much every time. Handy for supermarkets and a wander into town for dinner etc, can’t really fault it.

Going again in a few weeks

We stayed at the Hotel Blaue Ecke in Adenau. The restaurant at the hotel is very nice, but we ended up going to the Piazza Aviano across the road for the other two nights and sat outside as the weather was lovely.

Steak is really good and prices are really reasonable. There is also a Netto and Edeka supermarket within walking distance if you want to have a few cheeky drinks in your room.

Also in Adenau is a Rewe drinks market (and Rewe supermarket) - good for stocking up on beers before heading back to the UK. This is all making me want to go back!

I'll just throw in that I stayed at the Pistenklause in Nurburg. Sabine Schmitz mum's place. The beer Keller has loads of autographs on rhe ceiling and does a fabulous steak on a stone.

Yep, we stayed in Adenau too a couple of weeks back. Industrial Design House was the name of the place on the main road through the town. A couple of minutes from Pinochios for an XXL pizza.

I've only stayed at the Dorint, but it's brilliant, especially if you can watch the racing from your room cool

If you are wanting to go out for a meal and involve alcohol definitely stay in Adenau because there are no conventional taxi's in the area to get you anywhere, been there half a dozen times now and we have managed to wing it a couple of times with the help of locals who can usually find a mate who will give a lift for some cash but it's not ideal at all.

Cheers guys! I think I’ll stay in Adenau, seems to be a better option for having a couple beers in the evening. Found a couple hotels and airBNBs so will likely book one of them.

They all sell large lager is you ask for it ("ein Maß bitte")

Last time I stayed with a group in Adenau, we stayed here : https://www.sonnenhof-nuerburgring.de/hotel/

Very pleasant, ample parking and a short walk down to town.

Another thumbs up for this - I stayed here a few years ago and ate in the restaurant. Sabine (RIP) was in the hotel eating her breakfast so I left her alone. Her Mum was very pleasant and welcoming.

Bleu Ecke in Adenau, ideal spot. Not 5 star luxury if that’s what you need but good location, service, cleanliness, food, beer etc
