Which Lounge at Birmingham Airport?
Discussion
Simple question.
Trying to work out which is the best lounge at BHX. I won't be able to access the Emirates lounge but looking for somewhere peaceful with reasonable food offerings early afternoon. Flying with jet2 if that makes any difference. maybe they use gate 1 so a lounge near gate 40 may be an issue?
The choices are:
Aspire Lounge £36.99
Aspire Lounge (South) £36.99
No1 Lounge £34.00
Clubrooms £34.00
Is it case of you get what you pay for? the Clubroom is near gate 54 so may be miles away from where we need to be, but describes itself as the "Most Premium Lounge at Birmingham"
I appreciate that none of these are the Concorde Lounge!

Out of these Clubroom is superior for me.
Not sure if it is worth £30+ but you can find reviews for all of them here

Certainly one of the Aspire ones is awful (or was a few years back when I used it). We actually left to get some food.
There's a big restaurant/pub with a decent bar off the main bit at BHX, I forget the name but all the edge tables have power etc. If I'm flying without a lounge I tend to hole up in there these days. Caveat: I don't travel in school holidays unless I can help it - it might be absolute chaos at those times.

We are going at the beginning of September, just outside the school holidays so it maybe ok. I was hoping to find something that is marginally better to eat than the main eateries airside as they are pretty rubbish. We will need to get lunch before our flight.
I didn't find the online reviews that helpful TBH, hence asking here.

Not Birmingham but used Aspire at Heathrow this year - had a Bronze BA card so did not pay to go in. It was horrible. The 'free' food was a couple of lettuce leaves, sad looking sausages and slices of plain, sad looking pizza. I guess the drinks were 'free' but watered down coke I can do without. I really felt for the people who had paid to get in. We ended up leaving and having breakfast with the hoi polloi and it was much better and less crowded.

I used to be a frequent flyer and had access to most of the "standard" lounges. Going back 15 years, they were somewhere quiet to sit but you weren't going to get fed and watered particularly well. Since the advent of Mr & Mrs Chav and their 6 offspring being given "free" access with a token from their box of chicken nuggets, they're pretty much somewhere to avoid at all costs.
