Lost luggage, what to do?
Discussion
Late night flight from Turkey (Anatolia) got in the early hours this morning after a 2 1/2 hour delay only for my bag and the bag of one other in the group not to appear. We had checked in together and ours appears to the only bags missing.
At 3am the luggage help desk was unmanned, so filled out the “delayed” luggage form from a QR code stuck to the window (Microsoft webpress page, TUI doing it on the cheap). Anything else I should be doing? Does it matter that the flight was booked by a non-tui holiday company not directly?

Whenever I have had similar I have also put in claims with insurance and the airline for replacement items (within reason and with receipts) to cover other costs of essential items needed from the missing case before it was returned - usually just washing items, but have also claimed for shoes/coat and a laptop charger.
In all (3 so far) cases, the airline has eventually paid up, though it can take some time and needs pushing/escalating/refusing to take no.
In all cases the luggage also found its way back within three to five days.
Th worse was Lufthansa who refused several times to reimburse essential items on the basis it was a return to home flight. They paid up in the end.

Heathrow per chance?
Mine didn’t arrive in January, filled out the form and to be fair they followed it up within 24 hours, was reunited within 3 days.
No Gatwick.Mine didn’t arrive in January, filled out the form and to be fair they followed it up within 24 hours, was reunited within 3 days.
Rang up the company I booked with, they were extremely helpful giving me a contact email for Gatwick luggage handling plus a mostly filled in form. Here’s hoping that Gatwick side is as responsive, if not recovered within 5 days then it will be down to TUI.
Luckily it was on my way home and there is nothing I need immediately, so more of an annoyance if it’s found quickly.

Coincidentally, Lufthansa managed to lose my bag altogether coming back from Oman last year. Apparently not entitled to any compensation at all without receipts for the lost items - quite annoying, who keeps receipts for clothes and shoes?!Glad your case appeared OP.
