Nice hotel near Stansted airport

An imminent flight out of Stansted means getting up too early, really. So I am looking at taking us there the night before, staying in a decent and going to the airport in the morning.
Can anyone suggest somewhere pleasant close by that will serve a good dinner and be comfortable? I don't have a budget in mind.

If it's just the convenience then there's a Premier Inn just across the road. Travelodge too. Novotel as welll. There's also a Premier Inn at Braintree on the A120 - bit cheaper but a 20 min drive or so.
Hampton by Hilton is very nice - walk over to the terminal from there. But is pricey.

I can't help with a hotel suggestion, but I can recommend not staying at the Radisson at the airport. I stayed there last year and it was grotty.
That's a shame, we used it loads in the past as it was so handy (5 minute walk to the terminal) and wasn't too expensive if you got their parking deal too. We never got breakfast there (always had porridge at Leon!) so can't comment on that.Martin315 said:
