We’re looking to spend 10 nights in one of the above or somewhere similar next May with our kids who will be 7, 5 and 18 months by then. I’ve read several threads on here about Ikos and Sani including the review one running at the moment so I have a good idea what they’re about, so I’d be interested to hear about any alternatives.

We’d like a resort hotel where we won’t feel any desperate need to venture outside (although good places to run would be a bit bonus), the same or similar level of luxury, lots of facilities for kids including a club and ideally short flight durations.

The Princesa Yaiza on Lanzarote looks great but perhaps wouldn’t give the same level of experience.

Returned from Ikos Porto Petro for the second time in May and that should tick all the boxes.

PMI is very easy to fly to and from, especially with little ones.

Ikos & Sani are quite unique in their offering and sadly, they don't have many if any competitors that do it as well.

We're heading back to Daios Cove as a family next year, with a <1 year old + 5 year old. Heraklion a slightly longer flight so just keeping my fingers crossed for that at the moment but have secured some reasonable flight times.

Main reason for heading back to Daios Cove is they have some lovely one-bedroom waterfront villas with their own pool. So whilst the baby sleeps, the 5 year old can still go wild in the pool without going back and forth all the time.

Heading to Sani in 2 weeks for our 2nd trip there, 12 months after our first. Never booked a return trip to anywhere for the following year, which is an indication of what we think of the resort!

Have been to Princesa Yaiza a few times on family surf trips, when the kids were a bit younger. The standard is quite a bit lower than Sani, but it's still nice. The main difference are staff service, food quality and it just feels more crowded (more difficult to get beds around the pool, for example). But it's cheaper, and I would definitely return. It beats Sani in one area, in that you can easily leave the resort to walk into the town and explore a bit.

The place closest to Sani for us was Forte Village. The accom we had wasn't quite as nice as Sani Beach, but it's got stacks to do, great entertainment for kids (Chelsea Football, Rugby, Magic, Dancing, Karting etc), excellent food choices, great wine.....however it is pricey, and every time we have looked to go back I have been put off by the cost. The staff weren't as good as Sani either.
