Hi

Im sure Im just having a bad day on google however would be keen to hear from anyone who's been through similar

Son is going to Adelaide university as a planned part of his undergraduate studies for a year

Part of his visa demands is that he has Aussie health cover and this has been arranged through the university for a few quid

What I cant find is a simple policy to repatriate him if needed - yes, Im being paranoid - as all of the usual products would cover everything for the time he's away and are coming in at a proportional price. Clearly when in Oz he's covered with gold plated university sponsored health cover so does'nt need the health bits of the backpacker policies

Anyone had similar please?

Cheers

Might be worth speaking with people like Staysure.
Not sure I’ve ever seen a repatriation only policy as normally just included with travel insurance.

I also think you'd need to look at general travel insurance policies.

Might not be helpful, but having had some experience with this through work, the length of the repatriation is such that in the event of a life changing injury, clinicians would likely recommend treatment and recovery as far as possible in Aus anyway, before return home on a commercial flight, if possible.

For that length of journey, if someone is ill enough that they can't fly commercial, it's easier to fly family out to where they're being treated, rather than effectively chartering a plane/ accompanying medics to risk bringing them back.

What have you been searching for OP?

Sounds like you need medevac insurance - there's several providers out there, but it's been a long time since I've had cover.
