I/we are looking for a hotel for a few day away. Within, say, 4 hours driving of Surrey.

Last year we had a few days in The Victoria Hotel, Sidmouth. Just right, not cheap, but hey ho.

We have just had a few days in the Royal hotel in Weymouth. It was ok, but I would rather pay a bit more money and have a bit more upmarketness, if you follow.

Wife has mobility problems, so as few steps as possible. Any ideas, please?

That’s quite a search area and no budget given. Pig at Combe or Gara Rock maybe

Saunton Sands in North Devon.

You don't need to pay stupid money.

The company that own the Victoria in Sidmouth also own The Saunton Sands Hotel, so that is a possibility.

Budget? Well, I spose Dinner, B&B, perhaps up to £400 a night ish for the two of us. Just checked the Victoria does D,B&B from £202 per person, per night.

Would you consider Exeter?

These two are very close to the city centre and Dartmoor and beaches not a long drive away.

Saunton Sands is very well set up for those with mobility issues. Lots of ramps and lifts in the hotel and You can drive down to the beach too.
