Depends where your flying from, is this globally or just Europe/Asia/Latin America etc.

Cambodia is the cheapest country I have been to buy from memory you might have already been there.

In Europe it's Albania, very cheap flights, beer £1.50, lunch for £3-4, dinner about £5 and that's a good portion right in the centre. Public bus was about 20p and Airbnb was about £40 a night for a huge apartment in the city centre.

Some other Balkan countries are also similar. Soug America I would look into Argentina.

Yes globally !!

So some countries in S America look like they have good weather in our summer like Peru, Ecuador?

They must be reasonably cheap to live and transport around ?

Argentina and Chile didn't strike me as particularly when I was there.

Certainly A LOT more than the figures quoted above for Albania.

Argentina isn’t cheap.
I used to travel there a lot for work when the Peso was pegged to USD at 10:1, blue rate then was 15:1.
The rate peg was removed.
It’s now, at the time of posting, 900:1!

Japan.

Yes it will rain on and off and get more humid from July.
But its defo cheap. 200 yen to the £.

You can get a decent air bnb for well under £1k a month outside Tokyo. That's all utilities, wifi etc included.

Visa free entry for 90 days if you are a Brit. You can add on another 90 in country for a small fee. So 180 days total.

I would head north to seek out cheaper accommodation and cooler weather.

Then at the end of August go south again for another couple of months of warmer weather.

6-7 degree difference between Sapporo and Fukuoka for example. Its such a convenient country, except the getting there. 711/Fami on each street in the cities. 24.7 culture. The public transport is like a dream. The people are friendly and you will never run out of stuff to see.

In Japan?

Conbini food is very cheap. A *good* size lunch, some chicken, sushi and a sandwich with a coffee maybe tops 1000 yen. But thats a lot of food.
Beef croquets are around 100 yen. 2 of those and a piece of chicken was generally enough for me. That would come in at 400 yen. (£2)
Egg sandwich is about 250 yen. Assorted pastry items generally about 150 each. So all around a quid or there abouts. Drinks are 100-200 yen.
So a sandwich, pastry and a coffee would be around 600 yen or £3.

We lived off fami mart and 711 for breakfast and lunch.

Eating out, depends what you want. Some example prices
Chicken cutlet curry and rice 800- 1000 yen.
Conveyor Sushi 120-160 yen per plate
Ramen 700-1200 yen
Mcdonalds meal 800-1200 yen
Starbucks coffee 500-700 yen

I would say as a rule casual evening dining is about 1000-1500 yen per person. £5-7.50.

Plenty of places you can get set menu too which usually includes drinks. Any "family restaurant" will do it.
Something like salad/soup, hamburger steak and ice cream with drinks maybe 1200-1500 tops.

If you hunt down some of the back street places you can get lunch set menus for 600-700 yen very easily. We had the most incredible sushi in suburban Osaka and IIRC the whole lot for 2 people came to about 10 quid.

Outside Tokyo it can be a smidge cheaper too.

Some western places are going to be more expensive and you can go all the way up to £300+ ppn sushi places. But honestly you are going to be hard pushed to spend that sort of money. We had wagyu a couple of times and didnt hold back and it was never more than £100 for 2.

Remember no tips either so the price you are looking at on the menu is the price you pay. The larger convenience stores generally have an eating area with microwaves, hot water, utensils etc.

I am back there in September and cant wait.
